I love to cook and I'm not afraid to try new ingredients and new recipes. Just ask my family about my attempt at Wasabi Ice Cream. I'll not be trying that again anytime soon. What I will be making again soon is homemade bread.
Homemade bread is something I never attempted until today. My wife decided to make homemade vegetable soup and we thought it would go nice with hot, buttered bread fresh from the oven. Rather than reaching for the pre-made loaves in the freezer section of the grocery store I decided to make my own.
The recipe in my trusted Betty Crocker Cookbook had, what looked like, a few unnecessary steps so a quick Google search led me to an Amish White Bread recipe on allrecipes.com. I am happy to say it turned out very well for my first attempt. It's a little sweet for my wife's and my taste but the kids love it. Now I'm looking forward to trying a few different recipes until I find the one we all like.
